The blog tour is over! I took some much needed time off, but now it is time to get back to work!

Over Due Update

My real day job has had me going here the last month or so - things have been put on hold in regards to my writing. But now that the client is pacified it is back into writing and edits as usual.
Lovers Undercover: Devoted may be a teensy bit delayed, but don't worry I'll not disappoint.

Excerpt from Lovers Undercover: Devoted

Here is a new excerpt from Chapter One of Lovers Undercover: Devoted - Enjoy!!

Logan craned his neck looking for a glimpse of her but knew it would be difficult to find her in this crowd. They had agreed she would wait for him by the Delta baggage carousels at Charles de Galle International Airport, meeting here instead of Las Vegas, where they were in the process of moving while he headlined at a theater there. All of Scarlett’s family had flown to France to celebrate her grandfather’s ninetieth birthday, and they considered Logan part of the family.

 Finally he spotted her by one of the gates to the baggage claim area waving at him. Damn she looked fine. The two hadn’t seen each other in six long weeks. But there she stood waiting on him; her dark hair down, touching her shoulders. He noticed her floral halter dress and sandals, and could feel himself becoming aroused at the mere sight of her.

Logan walked as fast as he could, scooping her up in his muscular grip. He quickly breathed in her scent and the Coco perfume she always wore.

“God, I’ve missed you,” he growled as he covered her mouth with his in a passionate, needy kiss. Her tongue swirled around his, making him dizzy with desire.

“I missed you too. I couldn’t stand you being away for so long.”

“Well, it’s the last time I ever intend for it to happen. Six weeks is way too long and way unnecessary as far as I’m concerned.”

“Come,” she whispered, breaking free from their embrace. “Let’s get your bags. Did I mention we have my parents place to ourselves? They’ve gone on to the country to prepare for grand-pere’s party.”

“No, you didn’t tell me. All to ourselves, huh?” he replied, looking at her with a smoldering smirk that had a private meaning only meant for her. Grabbing his bag off the carousel, he took her hand and walked toward the door.

Outside, a black Mercedes limo waited for them. The driver, a middle-aged gentleman greeted them and took Logan’s luggage as he opened the door for the couple. As soon as the door closed behind them, Logan took her in his arms. Logan’s mouth found hers running his tongue over her lips, tasting her saltiness. He slowly parted her lips as he probed deeper inside her mouth, finding her tongue.

“God, baby,” he groaned against her mouth. “We need to get home before I fuck you right here in the car.” Logan began to straighten himself up, kissing Scarlett on the cheek and mouth.

Interview with Women's Fiction/Romance Author Jamie Salisbury

Jamie, thanks for coming. Tell the readers something about you they may not know about you – something outside your writing.

J.S.: I was in training for the Pan American games – the equestrian events, Dressage to be exact. I was training abroad, and due to the political climate I had to abandon my training, and come back to the United States.

RMc:  You have a new book that is due out June 1^st entitled Timeless Sojourn. Tell us something about it.

JS:  It’s about a woman, Anne who is coming out of a difficult divorce. Since she has no children or ties to where she is living,  her best and oldest friend convinces her to move back to their childhood town where she now resides. Anne does – moving in with her girlfriend until she can find a job and get settled.  She meets a man,  an artist named Geoff who rubs her all the wrong way, like oil and water, with his cocky attitude and swagger. But he finds her intriguing, and a relationship is the last thing either want. . .

RMc:  A relationship ensues *laughing*?

JS:  Oh yes! It is quite interesting, plus it has some other factors thrown in. It’s a May to December romance, but not in the traditional sense. *laughing*

RMc:  What made you write this?

JS:  *Laughing* A lot of things played into my writing it. So many of the stories I read about these types of relationships are so, so plastic to me. I had to write something real.  And that’s all I’m saying on the subject right now *wink*.

RMc:  Sounds intriguing. . .Your latest book, Tudor Rose. You did some major overhauls to this book. Why?

JS:  Well, first off I love this book. Love it!! However, it was more erotica than romance and I’d had some underhanded comments thrown my way. So I went back in and took a lot of the XXX factor out or rather toned it down.  *wink*

RMc:  The cover, tell us about the cover. You changed it as well.

JS:  Yes, I did. In fact I also changed the cover to my debut novel, Perpetual Love. On Tudor Rose, while I loved the cover and got a lot of good comments,  no one could figure it out (what it might be about).  So I changed it and I’ve seen a turn around in sales. It’s an awesome cover! With Perpetual Love, I did it so it was in the same line/look as its sequel, Perpetual Emotions.  Both of these covers (as well as my other two) feature Jimmy Thomas – so need I say more? Covers are ultra important, and having a good  cover  artist is one of the best investments a writer can spend. The cover for Tudor Rose as well as Timeless Sojourn were done by Fiona Jayde. She comes up with phenomenal covers!

RMc:  What do you have planned beyond Timeless Sojourn?

JS:  The sequel for Tudor Rose, which is tentatively titled “The Last of the Wild Ones”. There is also another book in the Perpetual series waiting to be done. I’m also doing some research for a historical romance. I’ve started it, but I want to make sure I’m accurate to that time period.

RMc: When did you start writing,  and is it your full time job?

JS:  Like you, I’ve always written. I think I seriously got started in high school while I was taking a creative writing class. I’ve been fortunate that all the jobs I’ve had involved writing to one degree or another. I’m fortunate that writing is my full time job, and trust me it is just that. I spend my mornings answering emails, going around the internet, updating, then spend most afternoons writing.

RMc:  You’re an indie – would you ever go traditional?

JS:  Never say never, but right now I’d have to say no. I have some projects up my sleeve – but right now I thoroughly enjoy being indie. A perfect story of pursuing your dream.

RMc:  So what does Jamie do for fun?

JS:  I love to travel. I’ve been fortunate enough this year to have already traveled extensively. I also like to ride horses. I just don’t have my own any more. I like to hike, camp and sail if I have the opportunity. Watch movies, read. . .the usual.

RMc:  Any advice for aspiring writers?

JS:  Don’t give up on your dream, don't let anyone tell you you can't achieve it (your dream), and keep writing!

Walking around the large living room Scarlett finally walks toward Logan and sits next to him.

  “This has to be the weirdest trip I’ve ever taken. But then I’ve never had a crazy employee before!” She smiled at him as he extends his hand to her.

  “Come on now Scarlett. That was why I signed on to begin with, your crazy employees. Never a dull moment,” he teased, grinning broadly.

  She sits up for a moment before reclining on his shoulder. “I’ve never been on a roller coaster like this Logan. And I apologize for getting you dragged into the middle. You are after all a client.”

  “Well, you can’t keep me out of it since I’m her fixation, and I would like to think our relationship has moved beyond one of client and employer.” He pulls her next to him.

  “You know better than that Logan. We’ve moved way beyond that.”

  “I’m just kidding love.” He got up off the sofa and began to pace the room, his face darkened as his mood has suddenly changed.

  “What?”

He sits back down next to her, taking her hand. “There is something I need to tell you before all this crap with Lisa blows up or does whatever it’s going to do.”

“Tell me what Logan?” He squeezed her hand looking straight at her.

“Please believe me when I say I intended to tell you this earlier. I just didn’t know Lisa was going to go off on the crazy train and I didn’t want to add to all of it.”

Scarlett warily eyes him for a few moments as it dawns on her what he is leading up to.

“You’ve slept with her, haven’t you?” She moves her hand away trying to decide what she’s feeling.

“Yes, but before you get any more upset than I know you already must be, let me explain. Please.”

“I’m listening.”

“I went out with her three or four times, no more. Richard introduced us out in L.A. right before he died. But I couldn’t take her possessiveness, and I’m being kind. Scarlett, please believe me baby. I care far too deeply for you to let this come between us.”

Scarlett didn’t say a word for a few moments, which seemed like eternity to Logan, carefully choosing her words.

“Richard introduced you to her? Not that it surprises me. And you ended things? That explains a lot actually Logan. Why she jumped at the chance to move to Atlanta and why she is obsessed with you.” She took her hand and places it on his cheek, rubbing it against his beard. “Thank you for being so honest with me.”

“I promise you Scarlett, I will always be honest with you.” He leans over and kisses her delicately, their lips brushing. He pressed his lips harder against hers, his tongue opening her mouth as he consumed her as their tongues met and tangled.

Excerpt - Lovers Undercover: Impassioned!!

Scarlett had many personal fantasies; one favorite involved falling deeply in love with perhaps a writer or a musician, someone creative. It all seemed so romantic to her, how they would meet, fall in love, marry, have kids and live happily ever after. It was just a silly dream she indulged herself in whenever her cynicism took a brief leave of absence.

  That fantasy must have been in the back of her mind when she asked Zachariah Logan McGregor to meet with her. He is known to his friends simply as Logan and Zachariah to his hoards of adoring fans. And of course he was late. She glanced down at the Rolex on her wrist for the umpteenth time. Where the hell was he? Come on Logan, time is money.

   Grabbing the cell phone off the table, she starts to call Logan’s number. As she waits for the first ring, a manicured, well tanned hand intercepts her hand.

  “Sorry I’m late, traffic.” He sits down across from Scarlett. Logan was a striking man, more so in person. Photographs did not do him justice.

  “No problem,” she replied, crossing her legs and staring into the loveliest pair of chocolate brown eyes she thought she’d ever come across. Add his longish blackish-brown hair, with a physique to match; well he would be any woman’s fantasy. “I trust the team is taking good care of you?”

  He said nothing, holding his gaze on her as he pondered the question. He appeared cool in spite of the hot, humid summer day, dressed in dark jeans and a black shirt with the sleeves rolled halfway up his forearm. He came across as a confident, in control man. The corners of his mouth twitched as he finally flashed a lopsided grin toward her. “Yes, of course they are,” he replied.

Logan McGregor (aka Zachariah)

This week I am excited to have as my guest Logan McGregor, who is also known as Zachariah.

Rae:  Welcome Logan. I certainly appreciate your taking time to sit down and talk with me. First off, tell readers something about yourself they may not know. . .

Logan:  That I was, at one short time in my life, a British equivalent of a Navy Seal.

Rae:  Wow! How does one go from being an entertainer to a Seal?

Logan: *Laughing* My "entertainment career" was in a major slump and thought I'd try something new. Of course it's not that simple, but that's basically how it came about. I still can't talk about it you know. . .

Rae:  Right. . .You and I share something in common. . .we both attended St. Andrews in Scotland.

Logan: That's true. "Laughing* I dropped out thought to pursue my musical career!

Rae:  Good thing you did!  What else?

Logan:  I spent a lot of my childhood in boarding schools, typical British upbringing. Not that there's anything wrong with all that.

Rae:  Tell us about this new deal in Las Vegas. . .

Logan:  In a nutshell, Rae, I'm at one of the major hotel/casinos much like Celine Dion or Elton John. I have my own theater. I had to totally rework my show to work in such a intimate setting. The best part is not having to be out on the road touring. I'm in one spot.

Rae:  I understand you've had a stalker?

Logan:  Yes, but let's keep all that to ourselves. I don't want to spoil anything. *laughing*

Rae:  You and Scarlett?

Logan:  Yes, we're a couple. It took a while, but we're together. She's a very special lady.

Rae:  Anything you want to tell readers about the book?

Logan:  Buy it! Read it!! No, seriously it has a lot of twists and turns and ends up somewhere far from where it started. Totally off the radar. . . Is that enough of a tease?

Interview with Scarlett Bouvier

This week I am pleased to present an interview with Scarlett Bouvier from Lovers Undercover: Impassioned. . .

Rae:  Scarlett, thanks for taking time to stop by and answer a few questions for our readers. . .Tell us something about yourself.

Scarlett:  Mmmmm....I am a businesswoman. Even though my family comes from money, I've always worked. Philanthropic causes are my specialty, giving back to the community and causes I believe in. I also have the agency that  my late husband started. It's a entertainment agency which I have kept running. Outside of work I love to travel, horses. . .to be honest I really don't have a lot of free time.

Rae:  Your biggest act is Zachariah. . .tell us a little about him.

Scarlett:  *laughs* Well, he's my biggest act. We sealed a deal for a huge Las Vegas theater act where he'll be headlining for a minimum of a year.  He has an amazing voice and stage presence. . . He's quite an astute businessman himself; he was part of the negotiations for this project. He stays on top of his career, whether it is good or bad. Fortunately the bad is not an issue with him. On the personal side, he's quite thoughtful, caring. . .

Rae:  In the book it is mentioned that he had one time been in the British equivalent of our Navy Seals. . .

Scarlett:  Yes, *laughs* he was. He got bored once when his musical career stalled and decided to try something new.  I don't know if it's a good thing or not, but you'll find in the book that he's being asked to use his skills in a sting operation.  And no, I can't go into that. . .*laughs* you'll have to read the book to get the details.

Rae:  Something for a sequel?

Scarlett:  Absolutely. I'm not thrilled about him getting involved, but it is what it is.

Rae:  So are you two an item as they say?

Scarlett:  Yes, yes. . .it (a relationship) was the last thing I was after, but the two of us just clicked.  It's a work in progress, a wonderful work in progress.

Rae:  Marriage?

Scarlett:  *wicked laugh* Now THAT is something I won't elaborate on. . .right now. We're comfortable with the way things are at the moment. . .comfortable with each other.

Rae:  Where do your story ideas come from?

Tonya:  I have characters and voices in my head all the time and I'm lucky they continue giving me story ideas. They keep me awake at night and they wake me up in the morning to get me to my laptop! If I'm working on a scene or plot idea, they make sure it goes their way or bug me until I change it!

Rae:  Did you intend for the Boss's Pet series to become just that, a series?

Tonya:  Not when I originally wrote it. As a reader, I enjoy following characters into different adventures and story lines so it was natural that I took Nick and Sondra in that direction.

Rae:  Are you working on something new? If so, is it part of Nick and Sondra's story?

Tonya:  I do plan to add to the series with Nick and Sondra; I don't think I can totally abandon those two!  I am contemplating a few other books, have story ideas and after  talking with a few readers, the vote is coming in to do a western. Those rugged cowboys need love too! Someone has to tame them into slowing down long enough to find love...in all the right places. There are so many avenues a western could go - deciding on the right location will be fun. I look forward to outlining the basics but the writing is usually done by the seat of my pants with the help of 'the voices'!

Rae:  Is writing a full time job for you?

Tonya:  No, we do own a business, The Boss and I, and that keeps us busy! Luckily, being one of the bosses and the IT person, among MANY other hats I wear, I have my office computer loaded with all my writing goodies as well. Shhh....you have to keep my secret - although The Boss does know that I write and market at work!

Rae:  When do you write, day or night or both?

Tonya:  I write anytime the muse is flowing...no pun intended! I'm a workaholic, and so is The Boss, so both of us are working all the time. Quite often the scenes roll around in my head for a while then I can just sit down and start writing. A mug of coffee with lots of cream to get me writing in the morning and wine at night adds to the right touch to the scenes! *wicked laugh*

Rae:  Are you self-published? How's it going?

Tonya:  Yes I am self published but only because I chose to be. I've never submitted a manuscript to a published but that isn't out of the question for the future. I may decide to send one someday. Right now I enjoy being in total control of what goes on with my covers and when the books get released. I'm just anal about doing what I want and when...is that bad? *wicked laugh* The Boss already knows this about me and he knows he can't make me do something I don't want. I'm also lucky that he whisks me away on convention/short getaways and those are fun times for us, so we do make time to relax!

Rae:  What attracts you to a man?

Tonya:  More than looks ...it has to be his confidence, by far. He doesn't have to look like Adonis, although that is a distraction, if he knows who he is and where he's headed...and comfortable with that...he will look great! But all that aside, a man who rolls his long sleeves up to his forearms...mmm...just gets me, I'm not sure why but I love watching the muscles work in his forearm as he reads a paper or works a hammers....it doesn't matter!

Rae:  What advice would you give new authors?

Tonya:  Ask for reviews and interview/guest spots on blogs. Many authors are looking for guest authors and many also enjoy helping those new authors get a chance to be in front of readers. Get your website up, Facebook, Twitter, blog, and get your name out there by commenting and tweeting!  Find a good critique partner who will help read through for errors and give pointers. Read your work out loud. If it doesn't read smooth for you, it won't read smooth for your readers! Learn POV and strive to stay iin it. Head hopping makes the reader dizzy and/or they'll toss the book against the wall! I have a few articles on my website for new readers and enjoy helping where I can.

Rae:  Tell us about your latest book. . .

Tonya:  Book four released in mid-January titled 'Their Submissive Switch' and Sondra steps up to the plate to show her Masters just how much she's learned. The tables turn and  one of them is under her dominate hands! Fun In February!

February 14th is drawing closer! Lovers Undercover: Impassioned will be its debut then. So as a tease I offer this snippet of what's to come. . .

“Scarlett…” He called out to her noticing she seems to be somewhere else. Logan is aware there of an attraction between the two of them and is more than interested in pursuing her.

     “Yes, I’m sorry, what were you saying? The idea of this venue has my head spinning with ideas.”

     “I was saying how I love your plane, much nicer than flying commercial,” he chuckled, his eyes dancing with amusement.

     “One of the perks of having family money. It’s part of my father’s fleet. I simply lease one from him, let his firm worry about all the maintenance and such, and I receive a bill once a month.”

     “So you were able to get in touch with your girlfriend and we are staying at her place?” he asked, still looking her up and down as she sits across from him.

     “Yes, she’s in Hong Kong and was happy to accommodate. I think we’ll be able to move around much more discreetly this way.” She glanced over at him, and then forced herself to look away her body shivering.

      “We could take in another show check out the competition so to speak.”

     “Perhaps, let’s see what happens first.” She stared out the window away from his gaze. Naughty thoughts filled her head.

     The two take a taxi to their home for the next few days. Scarlett immersed herself in checking her iphone for messages; turning toward Logan she observed out of the corner of her eye that he’s doing the same.

     “I imagine your girlfriends aren’t happy when you leave town without them,” she prodded trying to get a response out of him.

     He looked up from his phone grinning. “I’m not involved with anyone Scarlett.” He’s still smiling as the cab stopped in front of the building. Holding the door open for her, he extended his hand and assisted her out. As they entered the apartment, Scarlett threw her Louis Vuittan bag on a chair in the living room and walked toward him.

January Is Almost Gone

As January draws to a close, I realize how little time is left before "Lovers Undercover: Impassioned" debuts. Everything so far is going according to plan: the cover is done with just a smidge of tweaking to be done. The manuscript has been edited and re-edited and will probably undergo at least one more "look through". The ending however is still a work in progress with two different scenarios playing out. Which to choose, which to choose! And as the release date draws closer, the more excited I get. . .

Lovers Undercover: Impassioned

In my upcoming enovel, Lovers Undercover: Impassioned Scarlett and Logan travel to more than a couple locations, either on business or in some cases to unwind. I thought I'd share photos of the places they traveled to.

Atlanta - This is where Scarlett and Logan call home and where Scarlett's company is based.

Las Vegas is where Logan is going strike a deal and work.

Wyoming - Outside Jackson Hole is where Scarlett's family keep a working ranch. It is Scarlett's favorite place to go to unwind.

Manhattan is next, but instead of showing something everyone sees of the city I thought instead we'd go directly to the summer home Scarlett's parents keep in the Hamptons.

Having your own corporate jet certainly makes it easy to travel!

Lovers Undercover: Impassioned

I've been hard at work on my first erotic romance, Lovers Undercover: Impassioned, getting it ready for a February 14th release. So, here is a little tease. . .

Scarlett Bouvier is rich, filthy rich, her money coming from old family money.  She also became a widow recently. Her late husband, Richard, who married her exclusively for her money and family connections, started a "talent agency". Now since his death most of the artists have left, afraid the wealthy widow is clueless when it comes to running a business.

 Logan Tyler aka Zachariah, the largest money maker SLB Communications has is staying on board. Scarlett is approached with an offer for Zachariah that is huge. The two of them begin a journey together, his career, their passionate love affair and the explosive white hot sex the two ignite when together - and not necessarily in that order.

 One problem - an employee of the agency is obsessed with Zachariah, making outrageous claims about a “secret life” he has. And as if that weren’t enough it is revealed to the pair that Richard  faked his own death and is alive and well on foreign soil, running his sexual club empire that Scarlett knew nothing of. Logan, who had been to a couple of Richard's "clubs" at Richard's insistence, has been approached along with Scarlett by the authorities to go undercover into this world and flush Richard out.

2012

2012 is barely here and already out the gate and I find myself in the trenches hard at work. I have two novels in the works. Which one will be published first in early 2012  is uncertain, probably because they are both exciting  to write! "Lovers Undercover" is already undergoing edits and "Midnight Rainbows" keeps evolving.
Searching for not only cover art, but images for the blog are also top priority. So many to choose...everything is a constant work in progress!
